Support for deaf and hard of hearing students

Through a partnership with Telethon Speech & Hearing (TSH), the Outpost School Support Program allows deaf and hard of hearing students in Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 to take a full and active part in school life. Students attend classes while receiving support and individual assistance from a Teacher of the Deaf. Individual assistance may include developing areas of language, speech, auditory and academic support tailored to meet the individual needs of the students.

Children are assisted in the management of their audiological equipment, including hearing aids and cochlear implants. Education Assistants provide support for children in the classroom and Notetakers provide support for secondary students.

TSH staff are based on campus and run the program in partnership with St Stephen’s School. An Audiologist, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist and Psychologist, based at the TSH Wembley campus, provide support, and visit the school on a regular basis.

For children with a hearing loss, the opportunity to access the same educational options as their peers is invaluable.

OSH Club

An onsite Outside School Hours Care Program (OSHClub) allows students to arrive at School early or stay late in a safe and supervised space.Ìý

OSHClub works in partnership with the School, providing a fun and interactive space for students from 7am before school and until 6pm after school. Enrolling with OSHClub is easy and completely free. Head to  or call the Customer Service Team on 1300 395 735 to enrol and book in today.Ìý

Sports Development

St Stephen’s School understands the demands of balancing sports, study and other commitments.ÌýWe have two Secondary specialist sports courses aimed at promoting opportunities for growth in the sports arena and ensuring students can excel while in the classroom and competing.Ìý

The Athlete Development Program (ADP) is a specialised program delivered in partnership between St Stephen’s School and  (AI) for selected students in Year 7 and 8 at the Carramar campus, and Year 7 at the Duncraig campus.Ìý

Our Elite Athlete ProgramÌý(EAP) offered in Year 11 and 12 assists students in balancing the demands of an elite sporting career and their school studies.

STEMSmart

The ºÙºÙÂþ»­ School Imagineers Club after school and school holiday programs offers Primary and Secondary students opportunities to learn about digital technologies with a range of topics offered, including coding, robotics, engineering with electronics, video game design, app and creative design. Students take on project-based learning, building fundamental STEM skills from innovative and expert educators. The programs aim to inspire curiosity, creativity and imagination among young students and equip them with the skills they need to bring their ideas to life. These are currently only offered at our Duncraig campus.

WA Charity Direct

ºÙºÙÂþ»­ School’s partnership with WA Charity DirectÌý (WACD) enables our students to take part in unique philanthropy projects that support those in need in WA.

The WACD School Program, established in 2017, supports a Service Learning Program student committee who identify, review and donate to local community members. Since its inception, more than $105,000 has been donated to locals in need by the ºÙºÙÂþ»­ School Service Learning Program.
