St Stephen鈥檚 School is a progressive independent school of the Uniting Church, with a reputation for excellence in teaching and developing well-rounded young people and in 2024 we are proud to be celebrating 40 wonderful years of education!听
This year鈥檚 celebrations recognise the first day of school at the Duncraig campus 鈥� Wednesday 8 February 1984 鈥� where we began humbly with a group of Year 8s.听听
We are proud to be the first school established by the Uniting Church following its inception in 1977, uniting Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregational churches. Our first Council was formed in 1981, and our founding Principal, John Allen-Williams, was appointed when building began in 1983. 听
As Perth鈥檚 northern corridor continued to flourish with new families, the Carramar campus was built and officially opened in 2001. In 2011, an Early Learning Centre for Pre-Kindergarten to Year 2 opened at Hepburn Heights, Padbury to complete St Stephen鈥檚 School鈥檚 multi-campus options for families in Perth鈥檚 north. 听
St Stephen was chosen as the School鈥檚 namesake in recognition of his character, service, wisdom and faith, which aligned with the values embraced by the School and its community.听
Our mission to Serve God, Serve One Another is underpinned by five key values 鈥� faith, learning, service, care and community. We welcome all who share these values, from all faiths and backgrounds.听
Our beautiful 40th anniversary logo has been crafted as a focal point for our 40th anniversary celebrations. 听
At the heart of the design is a ruby, a precious stone traditionally associated with 40th anniversaries, symbolising longevity, wisdom, strength and passion. The design also delicately integrates a heart shape which symbolises the unwavering care, love and support that form the foundation of our student journey. It is a tribute to the values imparted in every classroom and interaction within our walls, reminding us of the strong bonds and nurturing environment that define St Stephen鈥檚 School.
This logo is not just a symbol of our 40 years of excellence, but a testament to the values and vision that drive us forward. It stands as a beacon of our enduring commitment to nurturing minds and hearts, as we continue to shape a future as bright and enduring as the ruby at its centre.
